Visit Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto on our motorcycle tour of Portugal

If you want to discover Portugal and have a great experience with friends or with a partner, you won’t find anything better than going on a motorcycle tour in order to enjoy the roads and impressive landscapes of the Iberian Peninsula to the fullest.

To begin, read the following and try to put yourself in the situation: You get on a motorbike, an incredible BMW like the ones we offer you at Beebiker, you ride down along a road next to a river, a gentle breeze envelops you and rustles through the treetops, the rolling of the curves makes you feel euphoric, right now you don’t want to be anywhere else. You feel so free!

Did you like what you’ve experienced? Would you like it to be real? Well you don’t have to imagine it, you can really live it out along with someone special and for 10 days on a BMW motorcycle tour around Portugal.

Anyone can fall in love with our neighbouring country. It’s amazingly beautiful, with great scenic, gastronomic and cultural attractions. The diversity that Portugal offers is a pleasure to see travelling by motorcycle. Extensive lowlands and miles of dramatic coastline, fertile river valleys and towering mountain ranges create the backdrop for this fascinating motorcycle tour of Portugal.

Its road networks, like the Spanish ones, are in excellent condition and that makes the route even more enjoyable. Our motorcycle tour through Portugal is designed so you can enjoy this beautiful and fascinating country, but also the actual riding, which is what we are passionate about.

And since we’re going on a tour to the neighbouring country, we also include a first stage for gearing up on home soil, interlacing the roads that unite us on both sides of the border.

Stages of our motorcycle tour of Portugal

It’s a 10-day tour that starts and finishes in Madrid.

Every day we’ll do a different stage of the route that will take us from Madrid to Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, passing through two other important Lusitanian cities: Coimbra and Porto.

We have put together a tour of the most beautiful roads of the journey there, so you can enjoy the ride and the views, selecting the most special restaurants and hotels and the most authentic places in each stage on the 10-day tour that shows off the best of this warm and beautiful country.

We’ll take care of everything so that you don’t have to worry. You’ll be enjoying the tour 100% so that your experience as a rider can be the best.

Daily stages of the Tour:

Day 1. Reception in Madrid

Day 2. Madrid – Sierra de Gredos

Day 3. Sierra de Gredos – Caceres

Day 4. Caceres – Lisbon

Day 5. Lisbon – Rest Day

Day 6. Lisbon – Coimbra

Day 7. Coimbra – Porto

Day 8. Porto – La Alberca

Day 9. La Alberca – Madrid

Day 10. Return Flight

Our guide will greet and gather together all the participants in Madrid, organize the baggage and explain the details of the trip before the official departure. They’ll make sure everything goes according to plan.

The first days of the tour go through national territory. We’ll head off towards the Sierra de Guadarrama to tune up our bikes and enjoy the mountain range landscape. The Sierra de Gredos awaits us and then afterwards the famous natural paradise of Valle del Jerte, full of cherry trees and natural pools. An enchanting little geographical paradise!

In the fourth stage we reach Portugal along the Tajo route, the river will become our guide. After the border, it shows us the way from east to west until we reach its mouth, a few kilometres from Lisbon. The Vasco de Gama bridge, known to be the second longest in Europe, will connect us to the capital and will provide us with one of the highlights of the trip.

Then we’ll arrive in Coimbra, the cradle of Portuguese culture, through interior roads which we’ll enjoy much more than those of the coast, if possible. The majestic and elegant city is a delight to bikers.

The trip to Porto will also be highlighted by routes and roads of great beauty. We’ll go back hugging the Atlantic coast visiting Aveiro and its water canals. Have you heard of them?

And since we like surprises, we have prepared one that you’ll love. You’ll discover it during the trip!

Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto, cities that make you fall in love…

What can be said about them that hasn’t been said before? They are the three pearls of Portugal: the political, cultural and artistic capitals.

Lisbon, facing the sea, carries the mixture of tradition and the avant-garde in the arteries of its streets. It is a paradise for romantics, foodies and cosmopolitans who like the hustle and bustle and of course, fado. It will be a mandatory stop of our tour where you can visit, in addition – on an extra route – the towns of Sintra, Cascais and Estoril.

In terms of historical and cultural importance, Coimbra ranks first. Its ancient buildings cling to the side of the hill that rises above the curves of the Mondego River. The ornate buildings of the famous University of Coimbra are its supreme glory. Reputed as the second oldest in the world, it opened its doors in 1290, and has produced many nationally and worldwide acclaimed academics. A city of great beauty with an enviable cultural history.

Porto, traditionally known as the rival of Lisbon in the north of the country, for its industrial nature and for its famous wine of the same name, is now a renovated city. The 2008 crisis hurt Porto’s economy and after a few years of calm, it was reinvigorated more than ever. Nowadays it shines with the art of its numerous galleries and the murmur of the waters of the old Douro.

If you still don’t know them, you’ll fall in love (like everyone who visits them) because their architecture and the natural space that surrounds them are impressive. And if you already know them, you’ll know that it is always a pleasure to visit them again and much better if it’s on an incredible BMW.

You’d love to come! Right? You can’t imagine what a great time the travellers have on our tours. Their reviews are fantastic for each trip.

If you’re up to it, get in touch with us and reserve your spot for the next tour of Portugal. If you’re a big group, do it as soon as you can before dates are taken. We’d love to see you!
